Raise your glasses - R.I.P H

Well the week started off with a touch of excitement as I go camera shopping while waiting for my flight out to Cuba. Where possible, paying extra for the luxury services and holding out in the hope for better prices in the duty free, it was looking to be a great start to a holiday.
And all went went well, purchasing a Sony Nex-5 with multiple lens options on promotion. This is specifically to bring me up to date in the photography world and letting me record the challenge preparations and the journey.

I lose myself while waiting in a VIP lounge for a delayed flight which didn't bother me at all. Getting my seat on the top deck of a 747 jumbo and glass of champagne sets the scene for the rest of the holiday. With no internet connections I was ignorant to the real world while I get my all inclusive cocktails served by the pool.

Alas, I receive the text telling me my friend and fellow Arsenal supporter passed away. Diagnosed with terminal cancer well over a year ago, he now sleeps without the constant pain his fight against cancer brought him. So even though I was 5000 miles away, I drink to his memory taking in some special aged rum, some Johnny Walker green label, and topping it off with a Cohiba V - at £35 each its one of the finest cigars you can buy.

I had to make sure the memory of H was celebrated with the best I could get. The holiday continues and thoughts of my friends back home, not being there for them rests with me. However, on a proud note, I return home to find more friends have donated to my challenge and at time of writing we have achieved £1610. An amazing amount, all from the generosity of others.

I have returned from holiday unfit and have over indulged in everything. I'm back to work tomorrow and I'm back on the road for a motorbike trip in less than three weeks. But I will get back on the wagon and back into fitness with a vengeance and will do you all proud. Looking forward to #SteveStock, and work is required on getting bands signed up and making sure you all have a great time! love you all Thanks a million!
