Greetings!
Well nearly two weeks into the fund raising and an AMAZING £765.80 raised! Thats 26% of the £3000 target from 43 donations!
I'm also pleased as none of the negativity that surfaced a few days ago has re-surfaced. I've been pleasantly surprised by the reaction I've received from friends and colleagues. This has been a great excuse to message friends who have been quiet for ages.
Training update:
There has been none. My usual routine of walking more on my commute to work is still there, and its a minimum of 2.3 miles and maximum of 4.6 miles of walking at a pace fast enough to raise the heart beat and keep warm.
I'm looking at other routes to increase walking and will look to build up on that. I also aim to have a full training program and nutrition plan in place as I get the 16 weeks mark (only 6 weeks away, but I get to enjoy the summer!).
I've also cancelled my gym membership. Controversial and not in line with the challenge, but I've worked out some running routes, and digging up an old circuit training routine. The local gyms are being tested for their offers and if they are willing to support this challenge. So far not much uptake but work is on going.
Fund Raising Update:
#SteveStock is looking good. Plans are working well, and I'm looking to see if I can get some prizes to raffle off, hoping to raise a bit more and adding to the fun. Also want to see about getting some free snacks served up to those who turn up early (and maybe ensure people turn up early to see the bands!).
Managed to get my mums café in France involved. A quiz night and a donation from the menu which usually gets about 30 people. Hoping to get some prizes too and raffle off some prizes (probably some British products the ex-pats are missing lol). Although this is not until November and I've got to get to France!
But the idea I'm trying first is to auction off all the stuff I don't need any more (and will gladly ebay your stuff for the cause too!). Will update when things get going.
Thanks a Million!
